And the Winner Is...

This morning, the winners for the prestigious Caldecott and Newbery book awards were announced by the American Library Association.  A Sick Day for Amos McGee, written by Philip C. Stead and illustrated by Erin E. Stead, won the Caldecott for the most distinguished American children's picture book.  In addition, the Newbery Award for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature went to Clare Vanderpool for Moon Over Manifest.  For a complete list of winners,view the official press release from ALA. - Elaine B.
