Little White Rabbit has a very good imagination. He pretends to be everything he hops by - green as the high grass, still as a rock, tall as a fir tree. A bit scared as he hops by a cat, he scurries to his mother. He doesn't have to pretend his mother loves him - of course she does.
This is a great book to look at with your special "somebunny" this Spring. Henkes uses soft pastels and the same illustration style that won him a Caldecott Award for Kitten's First Full Moon. - Lora F.
